Mimì Florio (1955-2019) was a teacher, writer, and cultural steward. After earning his degree from the Regina Margherita Teaching Institute in Salerno, he began teaching in 1982. Mr. Florio taught at the Barricelle school in Marsicovetere as well as the Caolo school in Tramutola and Rungi before transferring to Grumento Nova. He was passionate about local history and culture, and left behind him a collection of writings, documents, and photographs.
